      Billy was born on 22 December, 1892, most likely in or near the Brick Layers Arms pub, Tadworth, Surrey. He was baptized on 5 March, 1893 at St. Andrews Church in Kingswood, Surrey. His father's>
      occupation was "Careman".
      During WWI Billy served as a Lance Corporal in the 1st Battalion of the Queens Regiment. Billy was killed in battle on 29 June, 1917. He was buried in a British Military Cemetery in France.
