    • [message from Clara (Bowen) Molina ~ source military records at National Archives]

William was born ca 1759, and enlisted in the Revolutionary War in the Massachusetts Line at Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts, ca 1780.
Around 1805 he moved to Ontario county, New York. The part of Ontario County where he lived became Monroe County in 1821.
He applied for a revolutionary war veteran's pension.

    • A portrait of a man alleged to have been William Bowen was received via email attachment from Elizabeth Sloane on 31 March 2015.
Elizabeth doesn't know where she got the copy of the portrait. from the photo it does not appear to have been an oil painting, but perhaps a pastel chalk orwater color work.
