    • [Deposition of Della Franklin; 1885 Nebraska Census; Oregon Genealogical Forum Death & Burial Index] [Linda Thomas Data Base] [Adelbert Franklin Death Certificate] [Marriage Return: Louis A. Franklin & Roselie May Smith] [Certificate of Marriage: Louis A. Franklin & Rosalie May Smith] [Record of Action for Divorce: Rosalie May Franklin vs Louis A. Franklin]

Uncle "Bub" was born in Scio, Allegany, New York, on 18 May, 1873 according to Della. He was shown as 8 years old in June, 1880 so was probably born in 1872.
      Woodland I.O.O.F. Cemetery :
      Louis Adelbert Franklin b. May 18, 1874 d. 13 June1916
. Adelbert married Rosalie May Smith in La Center, Clarke, Washington, on 2 July, 1901. He is alleged to have deserted and abandoned her in January, 1902. Their daughter was born in June, 1902, five months after Adelbert deserted his wife.
Rosalie filed for divorce in 1905 on grounds of desertion and abandonment.
"Uncle Bub" was born in Scio, Allegany County, New York, on 19 May, 1873, according to Della's testimony.
In 1910 he was living with his parents and sister, Nita, in Tillamook, Oregon. His birthplace is shown as Michigan and his age looks like 32 ! He was divorced.
He died on 13 June, 1917, in Woodland, Washington. Cause of death was cerebral hemmorage. Linda Thomas was told by her mother-in-law that Adelbert died instantly while walking on a road near Woodland. However, it seems more likely that he collapsed on the roadside, and died three days later, since the death certificate indicates he was treated by the doctor from 11 Jun until 13 June.
Bertie was burried at the Odd Fellows cemetery in Woodland, Washington. There is no marker for his grave, and the date of his death is unknown at this time.
Linda Thomas shows his death on 27 April, 1917. He is said to have been walking along a road and dropped dead!
Adelbert married Rose Smith ca 1901 in Lacenter, Washington. They divorced before June, 1910, probably shortly after the birth of their daughter in 1902. The divorce was apparently a bitter one because his mother-in-law refused to let his daughter have any contact with him after the divorce! (according to Linda Thomas).
