Notes |
- Frank, who was apparently called by his middle name, Loren, was raised by Reuben Franklin as if he was his own son.
When he was 14 years old, he was killed in a boating accident while working on his step-father's boat in a lock on the Erie Canal. Apparently they were tying through a lock, and a line slipped, t>
he boat struck the lock, and Loren was thrown overboard. Instead of swimming clear,he clung to (a line hanging from?) the boat. He was then crushed between the boat and the lock! He was retrieved fr>
om the water but only lived about 15 minutes Reuben was so upset that he abandoned the boat and went back to farming!
